Holidays are right around the corner, and for most people this year, that means some type of gift exchange. Some people are extremely prepared and have been carefully curating their gift list since last holiday season when they see what other people get and realize that’s going on their list for next year. Others are not as prepared and need a little help brainstorming what to ask for. Here is your personal gift guide with a range of items and experiences for a happy holiday season.

Number one on my list is tickets. Between Broadway, comedy shows, or sports games, being able to go in-person for the experience whether your team wins or not is something everyone has missed this past year. Surprise a friend or family member to see The Nutcracker which is performed in most cities whether you are in Boston or somewhere else for the holiday season. Splurge on popcorn and nachos at the next Bruins or Patriots game and take pride in cheering in person for your favorite sports teams. Laugh ‘til you cry at a comedy club. No matter what experience you choose, being able to get back out in the world is a step we can all begin to take again. If you are not ready to go back to in-person events, there are definitely still some virtual options. Tickets can allow the gift giver the opportunity to attend the event as well with the added gift of spending time together.

In the same realm of gifting experiences, self-care is an experience that can be gifted as well. As we enter the depths of a stressful holiday season and are still facing stress from the pandemic, there are ways we can help each other prioritize ourselves and clear our minds. A great gift for anyone could be a certificate for a massage or to a salon of any type. If being at a salon or spa is not an option for some people, they can replicate that self-care at home with products such as bath salts, natural oils, or even an aroma diffuser. These self-care products can be found at Sephora, Bluemercury, or even CVS and Walgreens.

Gift exchanges are such a fun part of the holidays as well, but finding the perfect present for someone is never easy. There are fun gifts, though, that could work for a lot of different people. One thing everyone could use and should use are products to promote the sustainability trend and cause. Between tote bags, reusable cups, and straws, these are gifts for everyone between a large price range and very personalizable.

This holiday season is not only about gift-giving, but also coming together after such an isolated time in our world. While we all love receiving gifts, I know everyone is looking forward to the warmth and holiday spirit that this time of year can bring. The best gift is being able to enjoy time with family and friends.
