1. MFA + Isabella Stewart Gardner

Northeastern students famously get free Museum of Fine Arts (MFA) admission as long as they bring their ID, but did you know you also get a 10% discount in the Museum Shop? The MFA is a fun place to visit with roommates or friends, but it also serves as the perfect study spot. Dress up, grab your computer and romanticize midterms study season surrounded by art. It’s only a couple minute walk from campus and often underutilized!

The Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum is somewhat further, but every bit worth the trip. It’s a small but gorgeous museum that features floral courtyard displays which change every season. An excellent choice for an afternoon with friends or a quiet solo date.

  1. BSO + Boston Ballet

A night at the Boston Symphony Orchestra doesn’t need to break the bank. You’ll need to pay for a $35 Student Pass upfront, but with a valid student ID you can reserve tickets for as little as $5! Not every single concert is offered at this discount, but a large selection is still available. It’s perfect for a date night or after-dinner entertainment. It’s important to note that you can only reserve tickets starting on Monday, so set an alarm to log in at 10 a.m. or you may lose the chance to reserve your preferred concert.

If you’re more interested in ballet, Citizens Opera House offers rush tickets from $30 dollars to any full-time college student with a valid ID. Not every performance is available for rush, but you can get any ticket from $35 when they’re regularly over $140.

  1. Bluebikes Annual Pass

Lots of students prefer to bike around Boston: it’s easier than owning a car and a good form of exercise that’s quicker than walking. With a student ID, it’s also significantly more accessible! Students only have to pay $60 for an annual membership instead of $133.50. Bluebikes are also a more convenient option than owning your own bike since storage is taken care of. Just find an open dock, put your bike back and head home! If you’re trying to exercise more, or just want a more reliable way to get around the city, the annual pass is perfect for you.

  1. Student9s

If you haven’t heard of Student9s, it’s a program that makes select baseball games at Fenway Park just $9 for college students. Not all games are eligible for Student9s and the discounted tickets are generally released on the day of the game:  it’s not exactly something you plan, it’s more for spontaneous baseball nights with friends. Even still, it’s free to sign up and an easy insert for an unplanned night out. Remember to allow notifications, otherwise you won’t get updates!
