First Annual Husky Homerun Derby (BΘΠ and Club Baseball)

Come support Beta Theta Pi and the Greek community at Northeastern this Saturday, Oct. 6 at their first annual Husky Homerun Derby! The event is in conjunction with Northeastern’s Club Baseball team. The attendees of the event can create their own teams, nominate team captains, and participate in rounds of wiffle ball against other teams. Anyone interested must complete a sign-up form that can be found on the Facebook event page. There is a $20 sign up fee; however, all proceeds will go to Beta’s partnered philanthropy, Camp Sunshine. Camp Sunshine’s mission is to benefit terminally-ill children by offering them a unique and supportive program at their campus on Maine’s Sebago Lake. Camp Sunshine strives to not only instill happiness in the children at the camp but also provide support to each child’s family. The families who come to Camp Sunshine have children diagnosed with cancer, hematologic conditions, renal disease, systemic lupus erythematosus, and who have undergone solid organ transplantation. By attending illness-specific sessions through Camp Sunshine, the children have the opportunity to form friendships with others facing similar challenges. The Husky Homerun Derby will take place from noon to 4 p.m. and will be held at the soccer/football field at Mission Hill Playgrounds (60 Smith Street Jamaica Plain, MA, US 02120).
